There is a deep connection between the Taj Mahal and the controversies: Politics has heated up about the Taj Mahal many times in the past, read what happened every now and then
Controversy arose when Jagadguru Paramhansacharya was denied entry to the Taj Mahal due to saffron clothes and punishment. Sant Samaj and Hindutva organizations united in protest against this move of ASI. On Wednesday, the matter remained hot for the whole day. It was clarified by the ASI that Jagadguru was not stopped because of saffron clothes. Rather he was requested to put out the creed.
However, in this case, Jagadguru has announced to come to Agra on May 5 and enter the Taj Mahal with a religious punishment. He has said that if he is stopped on that day, he will sit there on hunger strike. This is not the first controversy regarding the entry in the Taj. There have been many controversies in the past as well.
There was a ruckus over the Ramnami dupatta
Prior to the controversy over not allowing entry wearing saffron clothes, there have also been controversies over preventing Ramnami dupatta from being carried in the Taj Mahal. On 24 October 2012, the members of the Vanvasi Satsang Samiti had come to the Katha happening in Kothi Meena Bazar. They had come to see the Taj Mahal. His Ramnami ocher dupatta was removed. There was a lot of controversy over this. The matter went to the ministry.
Apart from this, 34 models of the country, who came to participate in the Supermodel International competition in Delhi in 2017, had come to see the Taj. In this, two models were wearing Ramnami dupatta. The dupattas of both these models were removed. Controversy arose about this as well. Apart from this, in the past, a tourist came to see the Taj Mahal disguised as Lord Krishna. That tourist was also not given entry to the Taj Mahal.
Politics was hot on removing name from booklet
The booklet of UP tourism was released after the formation of the Yogi government for the first time in 2017. The name of the Taj Mahal was not mentioned in the booklet in the list of development projects in the state. After this the government was surrounded by the opposition and people associated with the tourism industry. After this a dispute arose.
Sangeet Som gave a controversial statement
After not being named in the booklet, former BJP MLA Sangeet Som had heated up the matter by making a controversial statement. Sangeet Som had said that many people were saddened that the name of the Taj Mahal is not in the list of historical heritage. What history are we talking about, the man who built the Taj Mahal had imprisoned his father. He wanted to destroy the Hindus. If this is history, then it is very sad, and we will change history. I guarantee you this. After this, Owaisi and Mamta Banerjee also retaliated.
Azam Khan had taunted
In this case, SP leader and former minister Azam Khan had also targeted the Yogi government while taunting. He had said that it is a good initiative of the Yogi government that the name of Taj Mahal is missing from the booklet. Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Parliament House are also signs of slavery. If the Uttar Pradesh government takes the initiative to demolish the Taj Mahal, they will give their support to it.
In the midst of all this, BJP leader Vinay Katiyar had also done the work of adding fuel to the fire by describing the Taj Mahal as a Hindu temple. He had said that water drips from above in the Taj Mahal during the rainy season. Actually that Taj Mahal was a Hindu temple. The place where the water drips is a Shivling, so that the water falls directly on the Shivling. He had said that the tomb was built there by removing the Shivling. At the same time, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij had described the Taj Mahal as a beautiful graveyard.
